\nCMM SOURCE INSPECTOR (REMOTE) – TEXAS\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\n\n\n* Travel up to 75% of the time to perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and/or sub-assemblies at supplier sites\n\n* Select and utilize standard gauges to ensure quality\n\n* Inspect feature tolerances by selecting the tool with the required accuracy\n\n* Perform complex inspections on purchased mechanical parts, components, assemblies and materials\n\n* Perform documentation review and verification of certifications, specifications, and conformance to design and specification requirements\n\n* Inspect flight hardware at the supplier according to engineering drawings, purchase order(s), industry standards, and SpaceX specifications\n\n* Ensure that all parts meet SpaceX specifications and standards or that any non-conformance is documented at the supplier\n\n* Support the development of inspection plans at suppliers\n\n* Support supplier corrective action process, including verifying corrective action implementation\n\n* Provide support to both internal and external stakeholders on SpaceX requirements and inspection processes\n\n* Collaborate with teams, lead projects, and drive continuous improvement of processes both internally and at our suppliers\n\n* Program and setup Articulating Arm (ex. Romer), CMMs to achieve the desired inspections\n\n\n\n\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n\n* High school diploma or equivalency certificate\n\n* 3+ years of precision mechanical inspection experience\n\n* 3+ years of CMM programming, CMM operations, or Faro Arm experience\n\n\n\n\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:\n\n\n* Aerospace precision inspection experience\n\n* Practical experience working within quality management systems (AS9100 and ISO 9001)\n\n* CMM Programming with PC-DMIS software\n\n* Romer Arm experience with Verisurf software\n\n* Basic understanding of electronics inspection and propulsion valve operation\n\n* Solid computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel\n\n* Statistical process control experience\n\n* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specification using ASME Y14.5. GD&T and skillful use of metrology tools and gauge\n\n* Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing priorities and tasks as delegated\n\n\n\n\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\n\n\n* Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted\n\n* Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position\n\n* Must be able to travel – up to 75% work week travel may be required\n\n* Position may involve overtime, long hours and weekend work as needed with occasional overnight work may be required when traveling to suppliers\n\n* Frequent travel to suppliers around Texas required, valid driver’s license mandatory\n\n\n\n\nCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:\n\nPay range:\n\nLevel 1: $30.00 – $38.00/hour\n\nLevel 2: $34.00 – $43.00/hour\n\nLevel 3: $38.00 – $48.00/hour\n\nYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.\n\nBase salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
