As an AI Tutor – STEM Specialist, you will be instrumental in enhancing the capabilities of our cutting-edge technologies by providing high-quality input and labels using specialized software. Your role involves collaborating closely with our technical team to support the training of new AI tasks, ensuring the implementation of innovative initiatives. You’ll contribute to refining annotation tools and selecting complex problems from advanced STEM fields where your expertise can drive significant improvements in model performance. This position demands a dynamic approach to learning and adapting in a fast-paced environment, where your ability to interpret and execute tasks based on evolving instructions is crucial.\n\nThe AI Tutor – STEM Specialist role is remote position and there are full-time and part-time positions available (please see the bottom of this job description for more details).\nResponsibilities:\n\n\nUse proprietary software applications to provide input/labels on defined projects.\n\nSupport and ensure the delivery of high-quality curated data.\n\nPlay a pivotal role in supporting and contributing to the training of new tasks, working closely with the technical staff  to ensure the successful development and implementation of cutting-edge initiatives/technologies.\n\nInteract with the technical staff to help improve the design of efficient annotation tools.\n\nChoose problems from STEM fields that align with your expertise, focusing on areas like advanced mathematics, physics, or computer science where you can confidently provide detailed solutions and evaluate model responses.\n\nRegularly require you to interpret, analyze, and execute tasks based on given instructions.\n\n\n\nKey Qualifications:\n\n\nMust be either an IMO medalist (or similar competition medalist) or possess a Master’s or PhD in a STEM-related field (Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Medicine, etc).\n\nProficiency in reading and writing, both in informal and professional English.\n\nStrong research skills, and the ability to navigate various information resources, databases, and online resources are essential.\n\nYou display outstanding communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational capabilities.\n\nSolid reading comprehension skills combined with capacity to exercise autonomous judgment even when presented with limited data/material.\n\n* You have a strong passion for and commitment to technological advancements and innovation.\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n\nPossesses research experience with at least one publication in a reputable journal or outlet.\n\nHas previous AI Tutoring experience.\n\nTeaching experience (as a professor, teacher, or tutor).\n\n* You possess experience in technical writing, journalism, or a professional writing setting.\n\n\n\nAdditional Requirements:\n\n\n* Available to work evenings and weekends, as the schedule varies depending on team operational needs; flexibility is required.\n\n* Demonstrates a strong capacity to quickly adapt by learning new skills and unlearning outdated ones, thriving in dynamic and changing environments.\n\n* For those who will be working from a personal device, please note your computer must be capable of running Windows 10 or macOS BigSur 11.0 or later.\n\n\n\nLocation, Hourly, and Other Expectations:\n\n* This position is fully remote.\n\n* We are unable to provide visa sponsorship.\n\n* If you are based in the US, please note we are unable to hire in the states of Wyoming and Illinois at this time.\n\n* Please indicate your interest in either full-time, part-time, or either in the application. Note that:\n\n\n* Part-Time (20-29 hours per week): While hours are flexible around your schedule, you must be committed to working at least 20 hours per week (with at least 10 of these hours worked on weekdays) and no more than 29 hours per week.\n\n* Full-Time (40 hours per week): Ideal full-time schedules are 9-5:30pm in your local time zone.
